More and more often, companies are going to personalized number plates for their fleet of cars.  It helps not only to identify the company on the car, but it also shows that the company owns the cars, and not the driver.  This is helpful if the driver does something wrong.  Usually only very trusted, high sitting employees are allowed to drive one of the cars in the fleet.  Having a bunch of cars with the company name on it shows status and that the company is doing well.  The owners of the company usually are the ones driving the cars.  This also shows status of the person driving the car.
