After speaking with some friends it seems that they were caught a little short on their home settlement. Running on too tight a budget when moving home can really create some problems if you need to rely on bridging finance. They had neglected to compute the full costs of the home settlement. Conveyancing is necessary to transfer the cost of the home but for some reason this was not raised in the process of dealing with the real estate agent and they had not accounted for it in their budget.
