There are many types and styles of mailboxes. There are those at the post office and the rural styles. Mail boxes are made of many materials including wood, plastic, bronze, copper, brass and even stainless steel. I would not want to pay for a stainless steel mailbox! Some are regular mail boxes on posts. Some are very fancy and are enclosed in brick with solar caps an high security locking systems. There are even mail boxes that are called curb vaults for high security. The one that I saw was $1,400 on sale. Now that is a very expensive mail box!
