After the 2007 dog food recall, many dog owners think more about what type of dog food they feed their dogs.  Should they buy cheap dog food or expensive high quality dog food?  Whatever type of dog food you decide to give your dog, make sure that it has as main dog food ingredients, chicken, turkey, lamb or beef.  Try to avoid food where the main dog food products are corn, rice, peanut meal or soybean meal.  All of these products are carbohydrates which are used as fillers in the dog food.  Most cheap dog food has these dog food products as main ingredients, so you might need to avoid them if that is the case.
