Families and children of all ages will enjoy a day at the Big Sandy Creek Dairy Farm in Madison, Georgia. This farm has all kinds of historical significance and offers an array of educational experiences overseen by co-owner and certified teacher Julie Benkoski.You can take an old fashioned hay ride and tour the farm grounds and watch as real cows get milked on this working dairy farm. Big Sandy Creek Dairy Farm offers a wide range of activities for children to educate them about life on the farm and the historical significance the farm has played in Georgia’s agricultural history. This farm has the first milking parlor in the State of Georgia and was once a stage coach stop where horses were rested and weary travelers stopped over before continuing their journey.Fall is pumpkin season, with a pick your own pumpkin patch and a fun corn maze to explore. This working farm offers all sorts of hands on educational experiences, such as dressing up in old-fashioned clothes and churning butter using the old fashioned butter churn pump.
